Put Your Whole Network on the VPN with One Router

One config file on a MikroTik router protects every device behind it. Phones, laptops, the TV, all of it, with nothing to install.

Installing a VPN app on every device works, but there is a cleaner way. Put the VPN on your router once, and every device behind it is covered automatically. Phones, laptops, the TV, the console. Nothing to install on any of them.

Ping VPN Premium generates a ready-to-run config for MikroTik routers. Here is what the setup looks like.

One choice, then one file

Sign in at vpn.ping.africa and open Account, then Configs. Create a config with the device set to Router, and answer one question: how much of your network should go through the VPN? Everything, just your main network, or only the tunnel with routing left to you. Most people pick everything.

Download the file. It is a small script, readable before you run it.

Load it and check it

Drag the file into your router in WinBox, open a terminal, and import it. The script sets up the tunnel, the routing, and the safety nets on its own, then prints whether it applied. No silent failures.

Open ipleak.net from any device behind the router. If it shows the VPN server instead of you, the whole network is through. On an ad-blocking server, our own ad-block check will show ads going nowhere too.

Built to fail safely

If the VPN server is ever unreachable, the router notices and falls back to your normal connection on its own. A problem on our side never takes your network offline. And when you want it gone, one removal file returns the router to exactly how it was.

The full walkthrough, including choosing the right mode and the common setup traps, lives in the MikroTik setup guide.
